SOMA Bodywork

 The Sessions

1:  Free the tissue surrounding the rib cage and lengthen the lower back. Results in a feeling of lightness and wellbeing, a more upright posture and fuller, deeper breathing.

2:  Focus on the body’s foundation, the lower legs and feet, which brings a sense of being firmly grounded and in touch with reality.

3:  Lengthen the sides of the body and free the shoulder, so breathing can expand for greater      relaxation and more immediate available energy.

4, 5 & 6:  Adjust and lengthen the center line, or core, that runs vertically through the body.  After these sessions, walking takes a fraction of the energy typically expended, with improved balance and freedom of movement.

7:  Release the muscles of the neck, face and head, resulting in a more softened, relaxed appearance in the face, with increased self-reliance and personal power.

8, 9 & 10:  Integrate the whole body in a new and more efficient manner.  Energy and vitality increase as the body’s structure becomes more aligned and balanced in gravity.

Arm Session:  Release and integrate the myo-facial wrappings of the arms and shoulders.

Somassage

Somassage is a stand-alone, specialized, deep tissue massage, originally developed to support the changes achieved in the session-work process.  Somassage can address the body generally or specifically, depending on your needs, and can be used as an introduction to the SOMA work or to maintain the benefits from completing the 11 session series.  It is available to anyone who’d like a wonderfully energizing, full body massage.

We are living art, created to hang on,

stand up, forbear, continue,

and encourage others.
